Indian Ocean Live!!

I wasn't great fan of Indian Ocean until Peepli Live was released. When I heard their songs in that movie, I looked for their music albums and became their FAN instantly. When I saw Avas Karma's post about their performance in Kathmandu, I jumped off my chair. Got my passes from Indian Cultural center and asked my friends to company me. Sad to say it was only Santosh to join me in the hall.

Indian Ocean are an Indian rock band formed in New Delhi in 1990. They are considered to be the pioneers of fusion rock genre in India. The musical style of the band can be at best classified as fusion music. Some music critics describe the band's music as "Indo-rock fusion with jazz-spiced rhythms that integrates shlokas, sufism, environmentalism, mythology and revolution".

Susmit Sen (guitar)
Amit Kilam (drums, percussions and vocals)
Rahul Ram (bass guitar and vocals)

Himanshu Joshi (vocals)

Tuheen Chakravarty (tabla and other percussion )

The evening was full of raw energy and my camera is always thirst for this..here are few snaps of them from tonight's concert.

Letting off steam with Abhaya & The Steam Injuns

My sister was asking since yesterday that if I'd go for a concert with her or not. I wasn't sure but I had nothing to do this friday evening so decided to go for a concert. I was checking out Facebook and I saw Fearless Abhaya's post about today's concert of her in Russian Cultural Center. Oh my God!! that was same  concert, I didn't spend much time to ask few of my friends to come along with me, and to add a fun it was free entry. So Me, Janak, Sarose and Bipin gathered outside Russian Cultural center. To our surprise, the watchman didn't allowed us to enter without the pass. We thought it was a free entry concert. That was partial true as we didn't  have to pay but we had to get a pass issued by the organizer, Indian Cultural Center. As we waited for my sister, the poor watchman showed some mercy to us and said that we can enter without the pass. We were about to return and he was the one rescued us. 

The concert started late. It was supposed to start at 5.30 PM sharp but they were almost hour late. There came Abhaya with a bang!! Janak had brought the Camera and It was fun Clicking! I wanted to post the picture tonight so asked him to lend me the memory card. And when he denied my request I instantly decided to bring my camera. When the band had a break, I ran (literally ran) for my camera, which i left at my shop at bagbazar. I ran from Kamalpokhari to Bagbazar and gathered my gears..and ran back again to the hall..
